If you write your articles in a way that breaks them down into several tips or ideas, it makes it very simple to break them into short autoresponder messages. You know the types of articles I’m talking about…”3 Easy Ways To Lose Weight”, “7 Tips To Write Interesting Articles”, “5 Ideas For Planning Baby Showers” etc. Here’s how to do just that.</p>

<p>Let’s say I wrote an article about 5 Ways To Save Money. My article outline would be:</p>
<p><span></span></p>
<p>· How To Save On Groceries</p>
<p><span></span></p>
<p>· How To Save On Utilities</p>
<p><span></span></p>
<p>· How To Cut Back On Unnecessary Spending</p>
<p><span></span></p>
<p>· How To Save On Gas</p>
<p><span></span></p>
<p>· How To Save On Clothing</p>
<p><span></span></p>
<p>Once the article is written, I can take each of these points; add a subject line, a one or two sentence introduction and an affiliate offer at the end. It won’t take you more than a few minutes per message to do this.</p>

<p>Then I just load the emails to my autoresponder, creating a 5 day sequence on saving money. If you’d like you can also hint at what’s coming in the next message, creating anticipation and improving your email open rates. For example, after the first email about saving money on groceries, I might mention that next week, I’ll share how to save x amount of dollars on utility bills.</p>

<p>But we’re not stopping there… I can even turn the original article into a short report, add the affiliate offers, create a pdf and add it as another email message to the autoresponder with a link to download the entire series.</p>
<p><span></span></p>
<p>Now let’s take it a step further. If I write a series of related articles, each of them broken down into 3 ways to accomplish something, 5 tips or 7 ideas etc. I can quickly create a series of 20 to 50 auto responder messages. If you schedule them to go out 7 days apart, and include the additional messages encouraging them to download the free reports you will easily have enough messages to last you for six months to a year. And each one of these messages is monetized with an affiliate offer, or an invitation to come back to your site.</p>

<p>Can you see how spending just a little bit of time thinking outside the box, can help you grow your traffic, your list and thus your affiliate income?</p>

<p>One last quick tip: Encourage your readers in some of these autoresponder messages to invite others to join your list. This will create a viral effect and get increasingly more people on your list.</p>

<p>I love stats and by far my favorite stats to look at, study, and most importantly get better at are my email marketing conversion rates. Getting better at this means instantly more money in your pocket without any added traffic, a bigger list or buying advertising. Here are five different tips for you that will help you get more of your subscribers to open your emails, click on the links in them and most importantly take you up on the offers you’re presenting to them.</p>
<p><strong>Stay On Topic</strong></p>
<p>Make sure your email messages are what your customers are expecting. If they signed up for marketing tips, don’t start sending them offers for the latest diet, no matter how good it is. Sure, this is an extreme example but you get the idea. Stay on topic with both the free content you send them and an offers you mail about.</p>
<p><strong>Use Good Copy In Your Subject Line</strong></p>
<p>What makes me decide if I’m going to open an email or not is the subject line. When I craft a message to my list, I spent more time writing the subject line than the whole rest of the email. Yes, it’s that important. Use all your mad copy writing skills here and keep a swipe file of good subject lines you’ve seen in your own inbox.</p>
<p><strong>Don’t Let Your List Go Stale</strong></p>
<p>You’ve put a lot of effort into building your list. Don’t allow it to go stale. Send them some fresh content, a quick tip, a pdf or even just a link to something interesting on your blog. Don’t go for more than 2 weeks without emailing your list. Ideally you want to make sure you email them something once a week. Otherwise, they’ll forget about you and all the rapport you’ve build with them so far will go out the window.</p>
<p><strong>Add Some Branding</strong></p>
<p>Make it easy to recognize that the email is coming from you. You can do this by including your website name in the “From” email field. Another thing I like to do is choose a short acronym for your list, website or business. For example, whenever I email my list at AffiliateTreasureChest.com, I start the subject line with [ATC].</p>
<p><strong>Share What’s Coming</strong></p>
<p>I learned this particular tip from TV. Think about the end of your favorite TV show… what get’s you all excited about the next episode? The preview, especially if the messages are a bit cryptic and raise curiosity. Do the same thing with your list by hinting at what’s coming and asking them to “keep an eye out” for an important email from you next Thursday.</p>

<p>So you’ve got your business online and now you’re wondering where to go next. Or maybe you’re not quite moved online yet and you want to know what is the most important feature your business needs to use on the internet.<br />

Well if we look at this from the standpoint of what your most valuable asset would be in your business, offline or online, we will find the answer.<br />
<span></span><br />
What if I took away all your customers and all your potential customers. Would you still have a business? Nope, no way.<br />
<span></span><br />
So if we had to boil marketing on the internet down to one most important feature that would hands down be your customer and leads lists. What does that look like in terms of online marketing? It’s your email list.<br />
<span></span><br />
If you do nothing else on the internet it’s important that you build your customer and potential customer database. With programs like Aweber it is easy to build multiple email lists of people who are interested in what you have to offer but are not quite ready to buy. It is also easy to put those who’ve bought from you into email lists either manually or through a bit of automation.<br />
<span></span><br />
<strong>How do you build an email list?</strong><br />
<span></span><br />
Well this will bring us to probably the second-most important feature of an online business. That would be your website. Using a website to market your business is going to have a large impact on your ability to sell and to collect new leads.<br />
<span></span><br />
With a website you can give people as much information as they need to tell them WHY they should join your email list and what value you will be providing to them.<br />
<span></span><br />
<strong>What do you do with an email list?</strong><br />
<span></span><br />
So now you’ve begun to build this great asset but you’re not sure what to do with it. Many people build an email list and then leave it sitting, quiet and useless. Don’t let your list go cold. Email them with useful information that builds their trust in you as a source of knowledge on your area expertise. Make offers from time to time but always provide value and build the relationship with your list.<br />

<strong>How often do you email your list?</strong><br />
<span></span><br />
Many people who start a list worry about emailing their list too often. How often you email your list is going to depend on how much value you can provide to them and how many emails that will take. If you can provide value only once ever two weeks then do it. If you need to email three times a week because you have so much value to add then do it.<br />
<span></span><br />
Just keep watch and judge the reaction of your list and make adjustments from there. If you are loosing a lot of subscribers then you’ll know it’s time to adjust. If you are getting lots of positive reactions then you’ll know you’re on the right track.<br />
<span></span><br />
Overall building an email list is one of the most valuable assets you can have in your business. If you take the time to do it right you will build long term relationships that will last for years and provide you with fiercely loyal customers.<br />

As you probably already know, your mailing list is the key to long term business success. It’s a direct connection to people who are interested in your products or services.<br />
<br />
PLR reports make it easy to build your list and there are a number of ways you can use them. Here are five commonly used strategies for using PLR reports to build your list.<br />
<br />
<strong>1. Give them away as an opt-in offer.</strong> This is probably the most common way to use a PLR report to build your list. Simply rebrand the report, add a few personal touches to make it your own and then add it to your opt-in offer. You can use one report to build your list or promise subscribers a monthly report delivered via email or download link.<br />
<br />
<strong>2. Use PLR reports for article marketing and drive traffic to your opt-in form.</strong> This is a less common though just as valuable method to build your list with PLR. Instead of using the report as a whole, take it apart. Create a few articles from the report. Publish them on article directories. Include a link to your opt in/squeeze page in your author’s resource box. You can then give away the report or another offer in exchange for their email address.<br />
<br />
<strong>3. eBook giveaway.</strong> If you truly want to offer a ton of value to your prospects, consider combining several PLR reports into a value packed ebook. Ebooks can be great giveaways. And if you add affiliate and promotional links throughout the book you can make money while building your list.<br />
<br />
<strong>4. Online learning.</strong> Partition your PLR reports into an autoresponder course. Many people enjoy learning online. In fact, it’s a growing trend. You can use your PLR report to create an online course delivered via autoresponder. Take the report apart and offer it in segments or lessons. Offer the course on your website as part of your opt-in. You can also add promotional messages to some autoresponder messages to boost income and conversions.<br />
<br />
<strong>5. Guest Blog. </strong>Use portions of the report as guest blog posts or guest newsletter articles and send readers to your opt-in form for more information. This strategy is similar to the article directory strategy. However, instead of publishing portions of the report on article directories you publish them as guest blog posts. You could also write newsletter content for a complimentary website. In both instances be sure to include a link to your opt-in form so you build your list.<br />
<br />
These ideas are just the tip of the iceberg. There is no end to the many ways you can use top quality PLR reports to build your list. Of course you know that not all PLR is created equal. I don&#8217;t know about you, but the bloggers I talk with, have one thing in common &#8211; they&#8217;re all saying out loud how HARD it feels like to make money online. And I&#8217;m talking about bloggers from all walks of life, in all kinds of niches and industries; beginners and pros alike.<br />
<br />
Remember how easy it was back in the days when you could slap a banner on a free site and make one or two sales; today you can&#8217;t approach blogging the same way like 5, 6 or 7 years ago! You need to have a vision and plan a strategy because people are now more reluctant to buy online than ever.<br />
<br />
Perhaps you don&#8217;t understand the concept of TRUST. Let me explain it to you. It is quite simple &#8211; people buy on trust. They buy from other people [and usually not from companies] that they like, know and trust. And because today&#8217;s niches get crowded rapidly, competition grows fast too; although the demand for your knowledge, skill and information might be high, the competition is getting fiercer!<br />
<br />
And the problem is this &#8211; you can&#8217;t expect to make money fast anymore. Your blog visitors have the option to compare your blog and your product and whatever you recommend them to purchase or download, within seconds, with just one mouse click, by Google, Twitter and other related sites.<br />
<br />
So what is the solution? If you believe that there&#8217;s at least one solution to any problem you might encounter, then I&#8217;m glad we think alike and can&#8217;t imagine how excited I get because we are on the same path here.<br />
<br />
OK. The solution is simple. Start building trust with your blog visitors. You can do it via RSS, but there&#8217;s a major drawback. A big challenge. Trust takes time. You don&#8217;t build friendships in a week. You don&#8217;t talk with your best friends via email only. You phone call her, you meet face to face, and so on.<br />
<br />

If you&#8217;ve been around the internet marketing world for any amount of time chances are you&#8217;ve heard those questions on more than once occasion. So many people focus on getting to the top of search engines when they could be spending that time working on building their list which is actually more beneficial than being at the top of the search engines!  Google can drop you faster than a blink of the eye but a list can “Google proof” your income.<br />

Building a list can be challenging but with these three tips you will be on your way to building an incredible list.<br />

<strong>1. Build a relationship first. </strong>Your main objective should not be money but building a relationship with your list. Don’t send email after email that just offers your product or service. Yes putting your product and services in front of your subscribers eyes is key to making money. However, they more than likely signed up for your list expecting to get something out of it not just sales pitch after sales pitch. And you will find if you do that you’ll have unsubscriber after unsubscriber. So focus on relationship building first and the monetary aspect later.<br />

<strong>2. Be consistent. </strong>Consistency is key! Have you ever signed up for a list only to end up forgetting you even signed up for it because the emails were so far and few in between? Not only does it cause list subscribers to forget they signed up but it causes the potential for loss of income and then if you decide to start the list back up later it’s going to be tougher to get those subscribers to open those emails! So when you start that list make sure you are consistent!<br />

<strong>3. Use a good autoresponder company. </strong>Each company will have different pros and cons you’ll need to evaluate and decide what will be the best for you and your needs. An autoresponder is where you’ll keep your emails, find your opt-in code, keep an eye on tracking – how many subscribers are actually opening your emails, etc. So it’s imperative that you have a reliable autoresponder company!<br />

<p>Establishing a quality, long-lasting and lucrative relationship with your subscribers may seem like a daunting task, but is absolutely critical in order to maintain a successful online business.  While selling to your list can be intimidating, remember that a missed opportunity is a lost one.  You will never realize the true potential of your customer-base if you do not tap into one of the best resources you already have – your list!</p>
<p>If you have not yet made the attempt to promote your business to your subscribers, don’t act hastily by inundating them with an onslaught of email promotions.  Start out slow and test the waters first.  An initial email letting them know you will be sending them valuable offers will open the lines of communication and lessen the shock value of advertisements appearing in their inboxes.  This is an opportunity to sell yourself and your business while gaining their trust before the “sales” even begin.</p>
<p>Any subscriber who truly is not interested in receiving your promotional offers will then have the opportunity to let you know up front, and most will not hesitate to be very forth coming.  Just as they have had the chance to “opt-in” to your mailings, they will now have the chance to “opt-out” of your promotions.  This will help you weed out subscribers who have no potential to become customers in the first place.  You do not want to waste your time with contacts that will not result in an increased profit anyway.  The good news is that most of your list will not respond.  In fact, they will most likely appreciate the heads up and possibly be even more receptive to your future offers given that you were considerate enough to “ask” their permission in the first place.</p>
<p>Once your list knows what to expect, you can begin the actual task of promoting.  That does not mean to send them multiple offers on a daily basis until they exile your address to the world of SPAM.  However, it does mean that you will have to stay on top of contacting your list and make a point of doing so frequently enough to stay current and fresh in their minds without filling their inboxes with clutter.  </p>
<p>It is also important to maintain a balance between content-driven emails and those containing promotions.  Selling to your list requires a delicate balance.  Mix it up without mixing messages.  In other words, alternate between information and advertising but do not blend the two.  You do not want to take the risk of your message getting lost.  You want to remain to be a voice your subscribers can trust without becoming too sales-driven and you also want to make sure your advertisements are clear without getting lost in your content.  A good idea to consider is to send one promotion for every two or three information-driven emails.  This way, you will not come across as overbearing and will simultaneously be taking advantage of possible revenue-building opportunities.</p>
<p>So don’t be afraid to promote to your list.  It can and will prove to be a lucrative decision.</p>

<p>There are very real concerns about list building and promoting to the people on your mailing list. And all the conflicting information out there doesn&#8217;t help matters when you&#8217;re trying to do the right thing.</p>
<p>Whether you&#8217;re new to list building or have been at it for awhile, it&#8217;s completely normal to hesitate about sending offers and even feel a little guilty about doing it.</p>
<p>Here are a few things to keep in mind:</p>
<p>- If you have not yet made the attempt to promote your business to your subscribers, don&#8217;t act hastily by inundating them with an onslaught of email promotions. Start out slow and test the waters first. An initial email letting them know you will be sending them valuable offers will open the lines of communication and lessen the shock value of advertisements appearing in their inboxes.</p>
<p>- A subscriber who is not interested in receiving your offers will have the opportunity to let you know, and most will not hesitate to be very forth coming. Just as they had the chance to &#8220;opt-in&#8221; to your mailings, they will now have the chance to &#8220;opt-out&#8221; of your promotions.</p>
<p>This will help you weed out subscribers who aren&#8217;t customer material. The good news is that most people will appreciate and be receptive to your offers given.</p>
<p>- Once your list knows what to expect, you can begin the actual task of promoting.  That doesn&#8217;t mean you can send them multiple offers on a daily basis until they exile your address to the world of SPAM. However, it does mean that you will have to stay on top of contacting your list and make a point of doing so<br />
frequently enough to stay current and fresh in their minds without filling their inboxes with clutter.  </p>
<p>- It&#8217;s important to maintain a balance between content-driven emails and those containing promotions. Selling to your list requires a delicate balance. Mix it up without mixing messages. In other words, alternate between information and promotions but don&#8217;t blend the two.</p>
<p>You do not want to take the risk of your message getting lost. You want to remain to be a voice your subscribers can trust without becoming too sales-driven and you also want to make sure your offers are clear without getting lost in your content.</p>
<p>I know that selling to your list can be intimidating because I used to feel that way too, but you have to remember that you&#8217;re running a business and emailing your list is not charity work.</p>

<p>You may have heard other online business owner’s say that it’s a good idea to offer some kind of freebie to entice your visitors to sign up for your mailing list. That way you’ll get more people on your list that you can turn into subscribers.</p>
<p>This advice can be true, but it’s only telling <strong>part of the story.</strong></p>
<p>Do it wrong and you might grow the list, but your responsiveness will go down the tubes.</p>
<p><strong>The Key to List Freebies</strong>:</p>
<p>Make sure the freebie is something created by your company, represents you and your products…and is very relevant to what you plan to sell to your list.</p>
<p>That may sound simple enough, but I see people scrambling to acquire resell/giveaway rights to products they can put as bribes for subscribers.</p>
<p><strong>Why This is a Problem</strong></p>
<p>This strategy promotes someone else’s business and showcases someone else’s expertise. To have a truly responsive list of your own, you have to knock their socks off with YOUR stuff. You want to start your relationship-building off with a bang and you can’t do that giving away Joe Blow’s Guide to Growing Beautiful Tulips.</p>
<p><strong>Freebie Ideas</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>A topic-specific report you created (if you use PLR, take it and make it unique, add your branding and promotions).</li>
<li>Go the extra mile and create a full-on course (instead of a teeny-weeny report) that will show your readers exactly the kind of great stuff you are famous for.</li>
<li>Coupons and other special offers for your product &#8211; particularly for shopping cart style websites with store update newsletters.</li>
<li>Useful tools, spreadsheets, software…anything your customers need to help them eventually consume more of your products.</li>
</ul>
<p>If you currently offer a freebie made and branded by someone else…cut it out. If you don’t offer one, try a highly-targeted free offer and see what it does for your opt-in rates. Take the time to create something that will WOW your readers and they’ll be tuned into what you have to say, week after week.</p>

<p>Have you ever worried if you’re emailing your list too often? Have you had nightmares about losing subscribers, getting angry hate email and other horrible things?</p>
<p>You’re most certainly not alone. There is always a great debate on how much one should email their list. Some will boldly state appropriate intervals, but I haven’t a clue how anyone figures they can put out a blanket frequency rate for all lists, across all markets.</p>
<p>The fact of the matter is – there is no one size fits all for every email list, but here are some guidelines…</p>
<p><strong>Stay in the Mind of Your Prospects &amp; Customers</strong></p>
<p>Your goal in email marketing is to keep your business in the minds of your prospects and customers. You also want to your readers to consider you the go-to source for information you share and the products you sell. If you email to infrequently, that could become problematic as they’ll just forget about you.</p>
<p><strong>But what about the other side of the coin? Can you email too much?</strong></p>
<p>Maybe, but what works best for your market and your list is up to you to test. You can look at open rates, response rates, etc. to help you determine what is best for you.</p>
<p>Personally, I email my Internet marketing list 2-3 times per week. It’s quite likely that some people don’t like it, but I’ve found this works very well in the grand scheme of things and I’m here to please the majority of my active subscribers. If you’re on my list, you know that I tend to write short emails. And amongst the product promotions I do, there is plenty of free stuff, information, etc.</p>
<p>In other markets I’ve dabbled with, I’ve also found a similar formula works. Stay in contact a couple times per week, keeping it short and sweet.</p>
<p><strong>But does that mean you need to start emailing more often if you’re not already?</strong></p>
<p>No, of course not. If you’re on a weekly schedule and it suits you fine, don’t sweat it, but you might start doing some testing.</p>
<p>For example, if you’re sending a weekly email that includes information on a few different subjects, try breaking it up into multiple emails. Remember, when you give your readers too many topics to focus on at one time, you diminish your chances of them paying attention to all those subject. Instead, send them one subject per email at a time and see how that improves your response rates.</p>
<p><strong>Above all, think value</strong></p>
