Gift cards are always popular choices when it comes to last minute Christmas gifts, but it’s still important to think carefully about what the recipient likes and choose the best gift cards out there. Buying a gift card for a store they never visit will simply be a waste. Thankfully there are options like iTunes that could prove to be the perfect match for a wide range of people.

What An iTunes Voucher Can Buy

Many people associate iTunes purely with music, but the truth is that the iTunes store offers a lot more than that – this is what makes it one of the best gift cards available. Aside from music, an iTunes gift card can also get the recipient movies, audiobooks, apps for their iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad, TV shows and more! If the recipient owns any of the Apple gadgets, or loves entertainment, then the chances are that they’ll find something they want from the iTunes Store.

How To Buy An iTunes Gift Card

The great thing about iTunes vouchers is that you aren’t just limited to buying them from the iTunes store itself. There are actually a number of ways for you to pick them up, including in physical and email form (depending on how soon you need it).

1) Buy From iTunes: If you do want to buy your voucher directly from iTunes itself then simply load up the software on your computer (you’ll also need an account for this option). Once you’re in, click the iTunes Store link and under “Quick Gifts” you’ll see the link to buy a gift voucher. You can get it in email, printable and physical card form. And you can also choose to give specific items from the store, or a regular monthly allowance to your kids.

2) Buy From Amazon: Another useful place to buy your gift card is from Amazon. Simply search for “iTunes gift card” and you’ll find various denominations on sale. Be careful to check the delivery times! See more gift cards from Amazon.

Christmas Card Ideas: Be Different!

Sponsored Links

Looking for Christmas card ideas? Then you have probably decided to do something different from the mass market store bought cards this year. Congratulations! You have a lot of options in front of you and your friends and family are sure to love your cards.

Most Christmas card ideas focus on homemade cards. This is not surprising. If you want to find ideas for factory printed cards, all you have to do is look in a catalog.

Of course, some store bought cards are more imaginative than others, and there was a time when you had to look hard to find something that would be different from the same boxed cards that everybody else in your town was buying. But these days, with the internet, you have many more options.

If you want printed cards but want them to be individual, you can go to an online printing store where they will print cards to your design. You can also choose there from many designs of cards that can be overprinted with your signature or personalized in other ways. If you have a batch of cards printed all the same way, this does not have to be very expensive. However, if you want a different card for everybody, you can expect to pay a high price.

Homemade cards are not necessarily cheaper when you count up the cost of all of the materials. Of course, you can make them inexpensively if that is your priority. The only thing that you really need to buy is the blank card itself, and maybe some envelopes. After that, you can make everything else from used materials if you want.

Kids love making Christmas cards. Many kids will happily sit for hours with paper, scissors and glue cutting and pasting to make a card for grandparents, aunts and uncles or neighbors, as well as their own friends.

Homemade Christmas card ideas can include everything from the simplest drawn or pasted illustration to a complex needlepoint design sandwiched between two layers of card.

If you choose the needlepoint option, you can find a wide variety of printed patterns from Christmas trees to Santas and snowmen, or you can design your own. You can then paste your finished needlepoint onto a section of card. From the full size, folded card you cut a square or rectangular hole, using a cutting knife and making it the correct size to display the needlepoint. Then stick the first section of card to the full sized card so that the needlepoint shows in the ‘window’.

For kids, a great way to make individual Christmas cards is to have them draw a tree on the front of the card, or cut and paste a tree shape from green paper. Spread some glue onto the tree and cover it with glitter. Leave to dry, then shake off any loose glitter. You can also trim the tree with old buttons, sticky gold stars and short lengths of tinsel.

Another possibility is to have your child write a message such as ‘Merry Christmas’ on the front of the card with a glue pen, and cover that with glitter so that the words appear to be written in glitter. In fact, you will probably find that your kids enjoy trying out all of these ways to make cards. They may even come up with Christmas card ideas of their own.

Download Christmas Music Online

Posted in Christmas Music

Sponsored Links

Along with planning all of your other Christmas activities, do not forget that these days you can easily download Christmas music online. There are many recordings of Christmas carols available, along with non-religious Christmas songs like the well-known White Christmas.

Music is so important to the atmosphere of Christmas. In fact, it is important to how we feel at all times. Music that is upbeat, fast and jaunty makes us feel good. We want to dance and laugh around this kind of music. This is often a good choice for the beginning of a party, as people are arriving. Upbeat Christmas music will set a lively mood to your gathering and encourage people to break the ice with laughter and chat.

During a meal, it is better to have something slower, played quietly. In restaurants you will often find fast music played to encourage customers to eat and go as fast as possible, but that is probably not what you want at your Christmas dinner. Soft music in the background is more appropriate to accompany a delicious, well-cooked dinner of several courses that people will want to enjoy and digest more slowly.

Traditional Christmas music carries a lot of memories for most people. In most cases these will be happy memories of magical childhood Christmases full of gifts and fun. If many of your guests will be around the same age, why not look for Christmas songs that were popular when you were all growing up? Or select different recordings for the different generations of your family. Older people will especially appreciate being reminded of their youth in this way.

However, if you have family members who have suffered a loss, Christmas can be a painful time when they miss the person who is gone. Keep this in mind when choosing your Christmas music online and try to avoid anything that will make the experience more difficult for them.

It is true that by the time that Christmas comes around, many of us have heard so much Christmas music online, in stores, on the radio and on TV that we are tired of the same old carols. Therefore, when you are planning your Christmas music selections, try to look for something a little unusual.

For example, you might choose a range of carols by a well known pop star. On the other hand you could go for a very traditional selection from a church choir. Other possibilities are old fashioned carols that are not heard much these days. You might find a recording of Christmas songs that were popular during a certain historical period, such as the Civil War or even earlier. This will keep your Christmas music thematic, but interesting and original.

So if you have an iTunes account or an account at another online music store, just go ahead and pick out your favorite Christmas carols and songs. And if you don’t have an account, just ask the nearest teenager! If you offer them an account top-up, they will surely show you how to download Christmas music online from their account.

“Christmas makes me happy no matter what time of year it comes around.” – Bryan White

“Santa Claus has the right idea – visit people only once a year.” – Victor Borge

Not all Christmas quotes are religious or inspiring. You can also find quotes about Christmas that are funny, even cynical, if you want them.

Funny Christmas quotes can be great to use on cards, especially if you make your own Christmas cards or have personalized printed cards. You can pick out a quote and have the printers put it right on every card in your order.

If you choose the right quote, your card will be memorable and may be kept or shared with others. This could be a great solution if you are in business – but be careful not to pick a quote that could offend any of your customers!

“A lovely thing about Christmas is that it’s compulsory, like a thunderstorm, and we all go through it together.” – Garrison Keillor

“The main reason Santa is so jolly is because he knows where all the bad girls live.” – George Carlin

I hope you enjoyed these Christmas quotes and can pass them along with the spirit of Christmas!

“Best of all, Christmas means a spirit of love, a time when the love of God and the love of our fellow men should prevail over all hatred and bitterness, a time when our thoughts and deeds and the spirit of our lives manifest the presence of God.” – George F. McDougall

“Mankind is a great, an immense family… This is proved by what we feel in our hearts at Christmas.” – Pope John XXIII

Religious quotes about Christmas are a great way to remind family and visitors of the deeper meaning of Christmas. If you are Christian, you will welcome the opportunity to do this in these days when the season has become so commercially oriented. Although it is nice to have gifts, you probably feel it is important to remember that this is mainly a festival to celebrate the birth of Christ.

If you want a way to spread this message to others without sounding like you are trying to preach to them, Christmas quotes are a great way to do it. And if you do not want to use quotes that specifically mention God or Jesus, there are many Christmas quotes about love that can have an effect that is almost as powerful.

“My idea of Christmas, whether old-fashioned or modern, is very simple: loving others. Come to think of it, why do we have to wait for Christmas to do that?” – Bob Hope

“Christmas is doing a little something extra for someone.” – Charles Schulz

Getting Organized For Christmas

Sponsored Links

Yes. You have plenty of time … right now. But, you know how it goes. One minute you have gobs of time and, the next thing you know, you turn around and you have a matter of days. Time flies so fast in the fall with everything we have to do to get organized for the holidays. Part of the problem is that there are so many holidays crammed into the last few months of the year. Don’t fret. There are a few things you can do now, do early to get ahead of the game.

1. Even if you are low on cash, you can shop. That’s right. Layaway is back, baby! Depending on how old you are, you may remember the genius of layaway. You shop, leave everything in the store and drop of cash when you can. No interest. No credit card companies getting rich. Just you and 90 days to make it happen.

2. The great pre-Christmas purge. Quickly. Quietly. One day, when the kids are away at school, clean out the playroom. Be ruthless. Throw out any toys that are broken beyond repair or missing one too many pieces. Donate the ones they never play with, even if you know it was special or expensive. There is no need for these to take up space. Donating them early accomplishes two things. One, you make room for all the new gifts about to arrive and, two, you can get them into the hands of a parent who may be a little short of cash this year.

3. Call two or three friends with children the same age as yours. Work out a rotating schedule to watch each other’s kids once or twice during the season. Having a pre-arranged sitter makes planning for shopping session with your spouse that much more relaxing and returning the favor feels good, too.

4. Buy those holiday pajamas that you always forget about. If you always remember that coordinating pj’s would look cute at about 10 a.m. on Christmas morning, order them now. Right now. Ok – after you read this post and, like, six others.

5. Buy a goat. No? How about a pig? Instead of searching all over town for that perfect gift to mail your Great Aunt Sallie in the nursing home who really doesn’t need or want anything, why not combine that money and a few others and join in the efforts of Heifer International. This amazing organization has been around since 1944. They took the whole “teach a man to fish” thing literally. As little as $120 will purchase both a goat, feed and training necessary to care for that goat. One little goat can supply a hungry family with over a ton of milk annually. Who knew?! They are even trained to turn the excess into cheese and yogurt to sell for a profit. Great gift. Way better than a Fruit of the Month club membership.

Peace on Earth. Good Will To Men. Organized blessings.
